Stationary monitoring: See current air quality, wind direction, and pollution trends over time.
SCAQMD has operated one stationary regulatory monitor in the AB 617 ELABHWC area since 1979. Data are available at the CARB AQMIS. The median value of PM2.5 at that site during our measurement period was 16 µg/m3. Nearly 39% of the road segments we measured were over this regulatory median value. Regulatory monitors collect data continuously at a single location meant to be representative of the area. The EPA considers the stationary monitor in East Los Angeles to be representative of a neighborhood, which by definition covers a distance of 0.3 to 2.5 miles from the East Los Angeles monitor.
